We act for victims and for people under investigation in proceedings involving online fraud, unlawful access, identity theft, online harassment and other offences committed over the internet.
We act as private prosecutors or as defence counsel, depending on which side you are on.
We handle electronic evidence so that it stands up in court.
We appear before the courts of the city and region of Madrid.
Computer crime has rules of its own: evidence is volatile, offenders hide behind fake accounts and identities, and data is only retained for a short time. That is why it pays to act quickly, with a lawyer who understands both the Spanish Criminal Code and how the technology works.
We study your case, explain your options clearly and stay with you throughout the proceedings, from the complaint or the first summons to the trial.
Phishing, unauthorised charges, fake investments, fraudulent purchases and CEO fraud.
Fake profiles and use of your details to sign up for services or open accounts in your name.
Intrusion into accounts, devices or email, and the sharing of private data or images.
Cyberbullying, stalking, threats, coercion and sextortion.
Ransomware, system sabotage, data deletion and attacks on businesses.
Attacks on reputation in social media, forums and reviews.
In a computer crime, what you do in the first moments shapes the whole case. A deleted message, a wiped device or a late claim to the bank can close doors that will not open again.
We review what happened and the documents available to assess the prospects.
We tell you how to preserve messages, emails, transactions and logs before they are lost.
We define the best route: complaint, private prosecution, defence or negotiation.
We assist you before the police, in court and, where applicable, at trial.
People who have suffered fraud, impersonation, access to their accounts or a harassment campaign, and also those who have been summoned or arrested over conduct on the internet.
Parents and guardians of minors who are victims of harassment, grooming or the sharing of images, and of minors facing proceedings before the juvenile courts.
Businesses affected by cyberattacks, payment fraud, data leaks or unfair competition by former employees, and directors under investigation for such matters.
Any offence committed using computer systems, or targeting systems, data or devices. It covers very different conduct: online fraud, unauthorised access, damage to systems, identity theft, harassment over social media, and offences against privacy and reputation committed online.
Not to file a simple complaint (denuncia). You do need a lawyer and a court representative (procurador) to file a private prosecution (querella) or to join the proceedings as a private prosecutor, which is what allows you to request investigative steps, appeal and claim compensation.
It depends on the offence. Minor offences and defamation become time-barred after one year, and most other computer crimes after five years or more. Even so, it is best not to wait: providers only keep connection data for a limited time.
That is common. Spanish courts can hear the case when the harm occurs in Spain, and there are international cooperation mechanisms to identify those responsible and trace the money, although it takes longer.
Time matters in these cases: digital evidence is easily lost. Tell us what has happened and we will let you know how we can help.
